FIRA

ROSSO VERONESE IGT

Corvina, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon.

The vines are situated in the hills around Marano, Valgatara and Negrar. Grown on calcareous clay soil with the vines trained in “pergola Veronese” style.

The grapes are harvested and selected in the vineyard when slightly overripe and then left to rest on large grids for 25 days, during which numerous transformations take place. This process ensures that the grapes reach the ideal stage of partial drying. After fermentation the wine is left to mature in large casks for six months which reduces the tannic content, increases the complexity, and emphasizes the natural spiciness of the grapes. After bottling the wine refines 3 months.

An intense perfume of cherries, wild blackberries and raspberries can be detected while in the glass together with the unmistakable aroma of red roses and a hint of pink pepper. Fira rosso is a decisive wine with correctly balanced tannins with a lingering aftertaste of red fruits.

Fira rosso is a wine suitable for various pairings, from first courses of fresh pasta with various sauces and aubergine parmigano. It can also be successfully paired with grilled meats or more elaborate dishes such as stewed rabbit or roast veal.
